When an individual is interested in getting an electric wheelchair, costs become a primary issue. What many people don't realize is that Medicare and some private insurance companies cover 80% of the cost of an electric wheelchair, and generally most secondary insurance companies will cover the remaining 20%. If you don't have secondary insurance, and the 20% would create a financial hardship, special arrangements can be made.
